One Meter Per Residence

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), as well as, the Texas Administrative Code Title 16, Part 2, Chapter 24, Subchapter F, Rule 24.169, subsection (a)(4), state that one meter is required for EACH residential, commercial, or industrial service connection.
If FWSC comes across a residential, commercial or industrial service connection that has 2 or more houses/businesses connected to one 3/4" meter, we are required to rectify the situation. The member would have the choice of disconnecting the additional houses/businesses from the meter and using a different water source, installing a separate 3/4" meter for each house/business or upgrading their current meter to a 1"meter, which TCEQ classifies as a master meter.
