Smart Water Meters
FWSC is in the process of changing out our water meters from Neptune Meters to Badger Smart Meters. This will be done in phases over a 4-year period. The meter change out process began in December 2024 and started in the Cistern/Flatonia/Armstrong Derry/Muldoon area. Badger Smart Meters have the ability to send the meter readings electronically to the FWSC Office 4 times a day. Once a phase is completed, FWSC will notify those Members that they now have the ability to monitor their usage and receive alerts when they potentially have a leak.
The next phase will be O'Quinn/Holman/Ammansville/Swiss Alp/Mullins Prairie area. We are estimating these areas to start receiving smart meters around May/June 2025.
Buckners Creek Ground Storage Tank
FWSC will be replacing the ground storage tank at the Buckners Creek Relay Station. This project is underway with an estimated completion date of early 2025.
